Purchasing a new/rebuild engine
I'm in a position where I might need a new engine for my AP2, 2004.
When I used to own a Mistibushi, they sold these "crate" engines, that were basically arelady built and ready to go. I want to avoid buying a used engine. I want a fresh one. I need it to be OEM spec, CARB (California) smog legal. Nothing fancy, just a fresh engine with zero miles in my s2000.
What resources can you all help me connect with?
Here's why I might need a new engine:

That's not going to pass emissions for sure. It will need standalone engine management and such. WAY overkill for a street motor, especially if you're just looking for stock. People seem to total s2000s all the time. I'm sure you could locate a clean, very low mileage AP2 engine, especially if you're actually considering the $7k, 250whp motor in that link.
That said. A brand new motor from Honda, if available, would probably cost more...
Just realized that all sounded a little harsh - just trying to offer advice!

Wow, that's less than I would expect. However, I would expect a f22c block to cost more. The k20 block has been used in many more cars than the f22/f20 block. Then you have to consider the price of the head, which I imagine could cost even more than the block. We're talking about a car Honda doesn't already doesn't stock a number of parts for.
A brand new, factory f22c would be awesome, though!
