Default Reducing drone

Hi Guys.

I have a T1r v2 63 singlepipe, i have a straight through 63mm testpipe, question is have any owners tried using a resonated testpipe to help with drone?

Would a resonated testpipe do anything?

I think toda/T1r do one like below:

Cheers

Thanks mate, did you have the normal testpipe previously then swapped to the resonated one?

How did it change the sound?

Cheers

TP in general reduce's drone BUT increase overall exhaust noise. So it's either reduce the drone WITH the test pipe and get a noisier exhaust or get the drone and have a more quiet exhaust.

On my AP1 I had a 63mm T1-R v1 with a Megan Racing Resonated TP. I only went from stock cat to resonated TP. The TP still had some drone that I disliked while driving around town and the exhaust sound was definitely increased. It sounded better at WOT than with the cat.

Not your exact scenario, but possibly helpful. The second time around when I modded my AP2 I just went with a catback and the stock cat. The noise, 5 whp, and irresponsible decision of the TP is not worth it, IMO.

I tried a Spugen Single exhaust with everything else stock, and the drone was so bad that I put my stock muffler back on days later. I then got a T1R resonated test pipe, so I gave the Spugen single another try. The drone was still way too bad, so I've given up on it. I don't know if there was any reduction in drone, but if there was, it wasn't enough.

I called and asked Evasive if there was a difference between the Invidia TP and the T1R Resonated that you pictured.

They said:

* There was very little difference in how loud the sound was between the two
* Both are louder than stock with cat.
* They don't stock the T1R because most buy the Invidia but can order it.

I asked a friend that has a J's 70mm single and an Invidia TP if there was a difference in the loudness before and after the TP. He said inside the car it was less loud and less drone with the Invidia TP than the stock cat.

I would also like to hear more input on this.

Anyone else have a aftermarket Catback and can tell us the before and after with the TP?

I have a T1R 70mm EM single and AEM V2 intake.

Thanks
