Default Single pipe exhaust

Hi do single pipe exhausts reduce the top end power somewhat???

I'm thinking of a tracy sports header (ts-02) and a J racing 60RS.

One thing I would recommend is to go 70mm; additionally 60mm is the same diameter as the stock exhaust.

Single pipe exhausts have been known to make a good deal more power than the dual versions. The stickies at the top of this sub-forum have an Official exhaust thread, and there's a lot of fantastic information on just about every exhaust available to us. Check that out for some more detailed information.

A funny thing about our cars...there's very little room for improvement. If you spend all of your time looking at where dyno graphs end, you're going to be very disappointed. A place where tuners and aftermarket manufacturers have been able to make some improvement is through our midrange.
Almost every exhaust this side of a custom made high dollar (see hytech) is going to tell you that they will net you 10-20hp. This may be true, but it's going to need to be mated with other components and the great majority of that ~15hp is going to be sitting around 4000-7000rpm. After that RPM range, you can watch the power taper off to ~3-5 peak gains.

Ok, that's my take from all of my research into different bolt-ons in a nutshell. And your basic answer is the 60RS will improve HP the most through the midrange, but should still help a bit up top. But if you are looking for more gains, I would go with a 70MM.

J's 60RS is the best looking and most reasonable noise level exhaust IMO. The T1R 70-EM makes more power but personally dont like the look. Just the weight loss alone by getting a 60RS and header is worth a few HP.
