Default Stock header

Ill be putting on a full 70mm exhaust system, and i was curious as to how much the stock header will restrict the exhaust system?

Im going for top end power mostly, and want to eventually get the J's header (last mod) until then, is there a cheaper header that will show some relatively decent top end power improvement with this exhaust system over the stock header that i can run until i want to get the J's?

Stock header doesn't restrict flow if you add a larger exhaust. You can go 3in and still make power w/ a stock header. Done it myself.

the asm 08 version header yields more HP then the Js..the asm is also the same as the toda.. you can also run a toda reflash with either header..

im running the 08 asm with a toda reflash.. it feels great.

I will say the say the same. The asm header with the greddy tic has made a considerable difference. Just today my buddy tried to take off in his g35 but i just kept on pulling. I could see the look of frustration on his face. The exhaust alone works pretty good but with the header it makes all the difference. I would just hold out and save your money to get what you really want. No sense in wastin money on something u r goin to take out later.

if it's top end power you want, then you're better off keeping the oem header.

there's some good headers out there cheaper than the j's or asm...but they are low and mid end headers. oem is best for top end power until you step up into J's or above territory.

GoTuning posted a dyno of a bone stock AP1 making 14.5 hp w/ just the addition of a cat-back ASM 70mm single SS exhaust.

This should more than answer your original question

Awesome! Sounds good, reason im asking is because, i actually have a comptech header installed right now, and i never noticed anything, other than it looks nice, and ive never heard anything about it. So i figured it wouldnt hurt to go back to OEM, plus selling the comptech i can free up some cash to do other things.

I hear the comptech works really good with S/C set ups. Let me know if anyone is interested? Otherwise ill just take my grand sweet time to take it off and not rush
