2000 sway bars on 2006
Hey guys,
Just picked up 2001 sway bars which is 2mm thicker in the front and back over the 2006. It also has .5mm thicker walls. I'm running r comps. I was wondering if if should install the back one. At first I was just planing to put on the front one. Im running KWv3 also.
Anyone have any comments? Has anyone done this before? How was the feel?

I ran the 2000 front bar and 2006 rear bar with the 200 front springs and 2006 rear springs last year. The body roll was improved over the 2006 setup. I have since switched to the CR setup all around and have improved the body roll even more.
I put the bar on today and went for a spin. Its a really good combo with the KWv3.
I can power out earlier. Feels like there is more grip in the back. Less front body roll too.

If running NASA TT/PT, do you have to take points for changing to AP1 sway bars and springs/dampers on an AP2? We only have 5 points to play with and remain in base D class.
FormulaRedline, that's the general impression I get, that the s2000 is better competing in C with tires/suspension/exhaust then trying to stay into base class D. The advantage with starting in D is I can compete with my car as is. Then, after drinking the "competitive KoolAid", I can decide if I want to jump into the deep end and sell the wife, kids, and dog for upgrades to C/B/A.
You won't be competitive in D (depending on your region's competitors of course, but certainly not on a national level), so why no just run at the back of C instead (you'll all be on the track at the same time anyway)? Then, if later in the season you decide to invest more, you won't have to move classes and you'll already have some points built up since NASA distributes deep into the places.

Sway bars are really a tuning device that you use to get the car right for usage, tire sizes and to a certain extent your preferences. You also have the consideration of trying to keep the inside rear wheel from lifting which can create some compromises with other goals.
If you put a 2000 bar on the rear you are going to be a lot more tail happy and could get more inside wheel lift, especially with the R-comps.
Is the car under steering more than you would like? That would be the only reason to make a change.

This is more than likely a placebo since stiffening the rear should take away from rear traction.
