I'm curious how this would be regulated. How many sets were you guys thinking?

We will have to think about this more, but we were thinking 2 sets plus one tire for incidentals. This will obviously require an extra set of wheels dedicated to the series.

As far as how it would be regulated, either marking the tire itself or using a serial number registry.

If we HAVE to have a dedicated rim, in only makes sense to use NT01'sas spec tire with only 2setsmakes allowed.

I ran an entire season on one set of NT01, and Mike Tsay ran an entire season on RS3. It may not be the fastest, but it is doable.

Could totally turn this into Redline TA style and say only tire wear rating of 180+ = 0pts and 140-180 = 0.25pts. At this point, I'm totally fine with points. Just wanted to know what the logic was behind not tagging RS3s with 0.25pts. I won't be able to run until later in the season though as the dates happen to fall on days I'm already busy.

Nam, you just made the case to make NT01s the spec tire. They do not drop off in performance. They can last an entire season. This makes the "2 sets per year" rule moot.

If RS3s are the spec tire. You have to somehow control usage (impossible IMO, how did weighing go this year?) And competitors need a second set of wheels. For what? saving $150 a set?
