Default 245/245 or 255/255?

Just wanted to get some oppinions on what tire size would work best with my wheels.

Some time next month I'll have in my hands 2 CE28N 17x9 wheels. I want to put them on the front and use the OEM wheels on the rear.

I just corded out my fronts (245/45), but still have about 3/32nds on the rears (275/40).

I want to move to a non stagger setup, but I'm not sure if i'd be at a dissadvantage putting the 255s on the OEM rears since they will not fit the same as the 255s on the CE28Ns on the front. i.e... will it be more prone to oversteer b/c of a better front contact patch?

I'm willing to save some $$$ by going with 245s all around, if it means a more ballanced setup.

Or, should I just stay with new 275/40 rears?

Or, will I like the different gearing as a result of the shorter sidewall on the 255s?

I guess I want to know if I am wasting money/traction/diameter differences with the 275s vs the 255s/245s?

What type of tires are planning on running? Track? Auto-X? Street?

My stock tires matched with my auto-x setup (alignment, tires, front swaybar, &shocks) need as much grip as I can get in the rear. The skinny 215/45/17 otenzas have no problem throwing me into a oversteer except under heavy throttle. I would say stick with the 245/275 setup. I run 245/275 v710s for auto-x and plan to go with a 225/255 setup on streets. I realize your wheels are much wider than my oems, but my point is I thinks the wider tires in the back will work best with your car unless you have changed it up quite a bit. Just my .02, see what other people think as well...
