3 Hoosiers in the front seat (pics)
Ok, I'm new to autocrossing and just picked up my first set of tires. Of course I have no tire trailer so I need a way to get the extra set of wheels to the meets. I've heard plenty about putting 2 tires in the front seat, one in trunk, and one on trunk lid, but then I read a post about 3 tires in the front seat. I tried it out, and it really wasn't difficult at all.

I used to love it when the top wheel would try and squish me on corners. I also loved not being able to change lanes unless I did a sprint to assure there was no one next to me.
Get a trailer. Life sucks w/o one.

Haha.. I do the same thing. It sucks when you make a turn and the top tire wants to fall on you. It really needs to be strapped to the seat or the other tires to make sure it doesn't fall.
If you're in Melbourne, where are you Autocrossing?
I think there's one down in MIA this Sunday (after gorging yourself on Turkey).
Good luck.
There's another GPWhite near your area that autoX's also. Terry Tabor. He was good with street tires and no bar, but he's got Hoosiers and a bar now, I think. Watch out for him!!

Yeah, Ive done it. But I had the top down and 3 tires stacked in the passenger's seat. I had a bungee cord wrapping over the top wheel and hooked to the bottom wheel so the bottom would act as an anchor. Otherwise the tire on top could eaisly fall out into the road.
Not only a major problem for you by losing the tire but a HUGE liability risk. Your insurance may not cover you and anyone who hits the tire that falls (or runs off the road or gets into an accident trying to avoid the tire) may sue you for any damages. Not to mention how damn hard it is to see out of ther passenger's window and mirror. There's another accident waiting to happen.
In short, GET A TRAILER. You may even find someone with a used trailer for sale. You can get a hitch at Small Fortune Racing - www.smallfortuneracing.com

I do not have a front bar either, and just experienced wheel lift at the FL State Finals in Brooksville. If you were there, my car was co-driven by Aaron Nash (who also kicked my butt and took 2nd place).
I haven't actually been to an event carrying the wheels like this, I was just curious if they would fit.
