Yup. I'm a fan of the StarSpecs. If only my apartment had more space I would have capitalized. I only need new rears though

Read between the lines.

Only good for instock tires. Meaning they are trying to clear out inventory quickly and do not care to order new tires. I wonder why that might be.... could a new dunlop be on the way? remember that the magic line in the sand for new tires eligible for nationals is in april.

 

Or, the exclusive deal with TR is over? Who knows...but it would be interesting if a new compound/tire was in the works.

 

I doubt that because I called discount tire direct a few days ago and they still said they had no way of getting them. If the exclusive deal was ending I'm sure DTD would know about it.

 

Good info, this puts the Star Specs a little closer to the out stock Hankooks. Still a tough bill to swallow, but Hankook must get their production numbers right if they want to retain the enthusiast marker.

 

As long as they are regarded as the "fastest" tire AND they are the least expensive, guys are going to snap them up whenever they can. I feel lucky for getting mine in January although I never really gave the Star Specs a fair chance.

 

Integra, check your invoice date. I also ordered mine on 2/29, but my invoice is dated 3/1.. Tire Rack mailed me the invoice and the redemption form. so I am good to go on the rebate.

 

Thanks for the heads up, but nope, says 2/27.

I don't have the paperwork that came with the tires since I had them sent to my installer, but he would have told me if it came with a rebate form.
