Default ABS

Anyone out there have S2K ABS failure? Right front lock-up. Checked all obvious, replaced both front calipers, flat spotted 2 tires so far. Can ABS be tested on dynopak front back seperately?

The only time I've lost ABS is after a spin.

Are you getting an ABS dash light?

I had an intermittent failure caused by a loose wheel sensor--the dealer left left off the 10mm bolt that secures it. The ABS would come and go, but it would go completely--all 4 wheels and the ABS dash light would come on until the sensor would seat itself again and the light would go out and it would work again for a while (very frustrating, I was very happy when I found that missing bolt).

If yours is only failing on one wheel then my guess is a bad ABS main unit--that very expensive box with all the brake lines and one giant green electrical connector under the hood.

I noticed this afternoon, that after getting my car dyno tuned today, the ABS light is on, where it wasn't before. :/ Hopefully I can find the source before my next event on Saturday.

Try driving the car around the block. When I got mine dyno tuned I had all sorts of VSA and ABS lights on, and as soon as I drove it 1/4 of a mile they all turned off. I think the computer just freaks out when the front wheels are not moving and the rear wheels are doing 90+mph.

I had that thought driving home last night. I'm sure it will clear itself after I get it off the trailer and drive around a bit. Thanks!

The ABS system self tests every time it starts up. If there is a problem (a code) the system fails to an off state. I had a bad ABS controller when I first completed my track car and got it on the track. On the skip pad, it locked the rears unevenly and it pulled the car around. On the track I was fine for that weekend, I just braked a little less. But it was on the top of the list of items to fix as soon as the car got homne.

Check all the sensors and make sure they're clean, that info was given to me by a wise man a while back.

Depending on the brake pads you use metal particles from the brake dust will build up on the ABS sensors because they are magnetic. It builds up pretty quick with Carbotech pads. As said above, keep them clean by blowing off the top and bottom of the sensors with compressed air. Be sure and wear a mask and eye protection when you do it though.
