Default Adding a breather to catch can(fix dipstick popping)?

So, ever since I picked up my AP2 I've had issues with the oil dipstick popping out after prolonged WOT/autox runs.
  • I replaced the PCV and tube, still had the issue.
  • Modified the car for STR and added Radium dual catch cans at that time. Issue almost seems worse now.
  • I run the oil dipstick flipped 180 which provides a tighter fit but doesn't fix the issue.

It seems to fully pop out after every run/every other run. How do I fix this?

I remember reading somewhere that venting the catch can(s) can alleviate this. Can I just throw a T fitting(like this ones) in one of the lines with a
universal breather universal breather
?
If it is that simple, am I better off venting the PCV can or the one going to the crankcase?

TIA

My old dipstick o-ring was worn and it would pop in moderate street driving. Billman put in a newer one and it hasn't happened since. Perhaps your o-ring is wornout?

I got both my PCV and front vent open to atmosphere (via a catch tank) but still popped my dip stick on WOT.
Replaced one of the o-rings with a slightly bigger one and after that the dip sticks never moves, unless you pull it out yourself
You could try and have your catch tanks open to atmosphere just to see if there is any difference, but then you need to cap off the lines to the intake.

I'd recommend adding an extension spring to your dipstick, or any rudimentary method to keep it from popping off.

You happen to have a part# for the o-ring?
Seems like the easiest option before venting the cans.

No part number, I just got the closest one from my bag of various sizes.
Advance auto parts labeled 64462.1; sized 6mmx10mmx2mm seems to be correct if you check this thread.

i started having this issue after boosting my car. per recomendations of several track buddies with boosted s2k's which all said they had the same issue was to use a spring. i went to ace hardware fount a 3" long spring or so with j-hooks on both ends. i got a spring that was relatively easy to stretch. drilled a smal hole in the dipstock handle. hooked one end down bt the fuel rail iirc and then streched the spring and hooked the other end to the dipstick. havent had an issue since

Most I have seen just turn the stick around so the longer part of the top wedged in. No more popping out. Will that not work on boosted applications?

On NA simply replacing the dipstick (or orings, but dipstick is like 20 bucks) fixes it most of the time

I went to Advance on Tuesday and picked up the o-rings. The dipstick fits VERY snug now. I'm thinking it will do the trick. My next autox isn't for about a month so it'll be some time before I can really test it out.

Otherwise I will try the extension spring suggestion. Thanks guys.
