I've seen two built cages by Steen that were beautiful and the owners were happy. One even survived a horrendous crash with the cage intact.

I have not, but my friend's shop has had numerous cars sent there for work. These cars compete in D1, Pro All-Motor class, SFWD, etc. Ive have seen the work and its top notch.

Just had my harness bar relocated by Steen chasis......Very nice guys there. Nice clean job.

Yes, you should have. The design that GFL(and Elda for that matter) submitted conceded leaving the interior mostly intact. I had one and then sold it when I elected to remove the softtop and glovebox. I then had them make me a completely welded bar with the lower harness bar(approx. 8" off the rear deck).
this is exactly where mine was positioned - 8 inches...
