Default advice wheel sizes

Have a question re. wheels for my race s2000, in particular ET value for following set-up:

starting points:

- overfenders at the rear (while slightly cut-out oem fenders)
- frontfenders , plastic type, 10 mm each side wider, compared to OEM
- camber front and rear each corner -/- 4,0 dgr.
- requires wheel and tire dimensions all 4 exactly the same (duely ease of changing race tyres frnt to back v.v.)
- so, want to install (4*) 17 * 9 wheels at a single ET value
- no use of spacers
- it's all about handling

What ET value /offeset (or min-max range for ET) would you recommend for this set up. It 's all about handling.

Thanks,
Harry from the Netherlands.

Hey Harry,

You should be able to run a 17x9 +35 quite easily with those fenders and camber. you may even look into a +30 or so or even less.

^I dont know about that. Maybe in the rear with overfenders, but not with 10mm front fenders.

A popular size with stock fenders is 17x9 +63. If you are running 25mm rear overfenders, you should run wider front fenders than only 10mm. If you get 25mm fenders for the front, probably a good size would be 17x9 +40.

17x9 +45 is a popular size. I run a set with Hoosiers 245 width. My fenders are rolled and the rear fender tab is relocated. I get the standard front fender liner rubbing.

Thanks folkes.
Further advice appreciated .
Forgot few things to mention, may be relevant for clearance issues :
- I run Stoptech BBK at the front (rear is oem ).
- And I did throw away the fender inner liners.
- now fitted, depending from event / track wheater circumstances either ( each corner of car exactly the same) :
a/ Nismo 17 * 7,5 , ET 45 , spacer: 25 mm ( Michelin slicks 20/61/17)
b/ Buddy Club 17 * 7 , ET 42, spacer 25 mm ( Michelin full wets 20/61/17)
c/ Buddy Club 17 * 7 , ET 42, spacer 25 mm ( Toyo R888 215/45/17)
With car set up as initialy mentioned, lots of space left duely rear overfenders, at front alsmost no space left

So, going back to my desired all round 17*9, any new advice on ET/offset ?
Thanks again.
Harry

I'd think anything in the +42 to 52 range would work well. +62 / 63 would possibly put you in the shock bodies or A-Arms with that much camber.

+30s is too low for the fenders you're running (probably).

What brand, model and size tire will you be running on the car?

If it's all about handling why do you want to run a 17x9 wheel? why not 17x9.5 or 17x10?

This is important and I don't see it listed.

Above, he's currently running Michelin slicks.

If he's on a stock motor, I'd think a 17x9 with 265 or 275 full R-comps would be a sweet spot of grip to weight / rolling resistance.

currently on stock fenders front and rear. rolled to the max with a very slight flare for the rear and relocated rear tab. I rub my front liners when I go close to full lock.

Running 3.0 deg F & R with 255/40/17 on 9J, ET +45. Slight rubbing on big dips so need to do a bit more flaring for the front & rear.

hope this helps.
