alightment question

Yes, a smaller number will make the steering lighter. It will also make the steering less "self-centering".

Most S2000 drivers want high caster (5.5-6.0), to help give them feedback. It makes the steering heavier, but that's a good thing at high speed, because it helps you to feel the front wheels.

However, this is personal preference.

You really should get the caster the same on both sides, though. A good tech will be able to do that, but he might work on it for a while, which will mean more labor charged.

Shops that charge a fixed rate for an alignment are not going to spend the time and concern on your car that you get if you pay somebody to take as long as it takes. That's often more than an hour, for a really precise alignment job.

why woujld u toe out the front? don't u only toe out in the front if its a fwd since when u accel it tightens up everything is the front? i always thought its better to have a bit of toe in in the front

slightly toe out the front , because i think it help to turn in better .

today i had alightment again at the same shop , the caster is same now !
the front toe is 0 , other is almost the same . actually i feel it was better with a little toe out in the front !!

soon , i will have any set of new tires , then i will alight it again with a little toe out !!

ok so im goin to have my alignment done with my cuzn on open shop day at school. when you guys talk about have toe in the rear, which type is it i want? do i want the front of the rear tire to point in or do i want the front of the rear to point out. ive been lookin up diff settings so that i know what to set up which way.

i guess it depend on what purpose of yours , and different people like to have different setup !!

for street use , i like to have toe 0 both front and rear , because saving a bit tires , but i will still try to get negative camber as much as i can both front and rear !! caster , i really couldn't tell , i like to get the caster back to the rear as much as i can , having a lighter steering , turn easier in the tight corner , while some people want it less , cause they can feel the front tire limit easier !!

can anyone help me. what are the effects of certain toe in the rear? if the front of the rear tires point inward what is the affect in driving? if the rears point outward what is the effect in that?

A street driven car should definitely have toe in in the rear. Zero toe to toe out in the rear makes the car prone to oversteer in transitions, ie not safe for the street.

You always want slight toe in in the rear.

In the front, a small amount of toe in is normal for a street car. Moving to 0 or toe out enhances turn in at the expense of tire wear. Excessive toe out can also make the car darty under braking in slippery conditions.

negative camber matched with the right amount of toe in will even out tire wear

Did the printout list your SAI (and therefore Included Angle)? Has the car ever been in any sort of accident that would affect the suspension components?
