anyone have a gps lap timer program?
I've seen and tried the free-ware version of the MaxQ software, and I know patinum uses it and likes it.
however keep in mind that the built-in GPS of your Windows Mobile device is very unlikely (I think impossible due to the GPS chipset it uses) to have a sufficient enough refresh rate to be useful.
A very few GPS receivers have a refresh rate faster than 1 Hz. The problem here is that even at only 60 mph, you have an 88 foot margin of error with each 'tick' of the program. The software will interpolate the data, but this makes it useless for precise info for it's two prime uses:
1. Laptimes and sector times.
2. Track position (accurately drawing your line).
This is why the 1 Hz version is a free trial. Because it is not truly useful, just a way to try it out.
To make it useful you really need to get one of their tested and endorsed GPS receiver. I have done such, and bought the 'lite' unlock code, but now the problem I have is that my Windows Mobile device (WM phone) appears to be processor limited and cannot handle the flood of info.

The full up maxqdata system (with the Acer notebook, the webcams, the bluetooth GPS receiver) works pretty darn well. But your typical PDA just doesn't have the speed to keep up.
