Anyone know what happened to this guy?
See this thread:

Here's a copy-n-paste of my question (same as what I posted in that thread):
"I'd be very interested to hear the exact nature of this incident, such as what sort of drifting he attempted at what part of the track, at what speed, did he drift off the track and hit anything, what part of the subframe cracked and was it due to modifications or is there an inherent weakness to watch out for, etc?"
I think I might be a better response in this forum than in the Street Encounters forum where this thread resides. Thanks for any info!

I wasnt there but heard from a friend that the guy was indeed one of the "drifters".
Apparently coming out of the final turn onto the front straight, he overcorrected, snap-spun the other way (thus the damage to the right side of the car), and ended up hitting the pit wall. If you look at a track map, the corner is located in the area marked "skid pad". It's a very open section of the track because, as the map says, its an area they can use to set up a skid pad.
I've been to other SpeedTrialUSA events at the Streets, and that corner is always where the "drifters" like to push it becuase thats the one place where spectators can actually see whats going on, and where photographers can easily get some good action shots. Its also a good place to hit the only concrete wall of the entire track by being out of control at the corner exit... ahem.
Its a 2nd gear corner.
I dont know anything about the car or what mods it might have had. Nor do I know anything about the driver or his/her driving abilites... though I could probably take a guess on that one.

oh and one more thing....
and this is just a guess... but I'd bet that he broke his rear suspension like he did before he actually got to the wall. Just on the outside of pavement, as you come on the straight, there's a really big rut in the grass. I've seen people get a wheel off there and it's really really ugly... hitting it sideways/backwards would be even worse and would probably make your car look like... well... like that guys car.
