Default AP1 or AP2

I know there are a lot of threads with peoples opinions about which car they think is better on the track, but in reality what are people driving? AP1 or AP2?

Is this because the AP1 is "better" or simply because it's worth less, so in case of an accident, it's less of a loss?

at DBR6 i found that the AP2 was equally as fast as the AP1 and in some cases the improved tq allowed me to be outside of vtec and did not require constant shifting to pull myself through the tight corners.

The AP2 is more suited to higher speed cornering, where as the AP1 will really shine in AutoX. To each their own. Its nice to have a choice now.

Well AP1 has been out longer and you can get an AP1 cheaper if you wanted to track an S2.

A nice, clean, low mileage AP1 is still bringing 20-22K or more depending. You can buy a brand new AP2 for 28 or 29. I am one of those people that will spend the extra 8 or 9K and buy new, but I'm not everybody. Personally I opted for a higher mileage AP1 for 13ish.

Each has advantages and disadvantages, they seem to be about equal overall for speed. But then the AP1 is cheaper on top of that.

Personally, I couldn't live without my 9k redline And if you know how to shift well enough to keep it in VTEC, the "low end torque" you hear so much about on the AP2 will never be used.

AP2 here.

Love it for the track but I've actually never driven an AP1, so can't really compare...
