Default AP2 Alignment recomendations

I've read a lot of threads on aligment and the european alignment and such but have not seen any that specifically address the differences for the AP2.

Knowing the AP2 has different spring rates, swaybars, wheels size and a different rear subframe, what is a good recommendation for alignment?

I'm running a stock suspension and am looking to get less understeer. I mostly drive the street, cayon carving, and perhaps a hpde in the future.

I drove an '01 for years before it was stolen and wish my '04 handled more like that. (with the exception of the bumpsteer).

I also have an '01 rear swaybar in the garage I could put on. What are people's thoughts?

Seems to me most of those in the racing forum are runng AP1's. Is that true?

The only difference in the factory alignment specs is 1/8" less rear toe-in (total). That's probably the only difference you'll see between competetive alignments for the two cars, too.

I'm running an AP2 for autocross, like a lot of the folks who are currently competing in S2000s -- lots of AP1s for the track folks, though.

to clarify orthonormal's post, ap2 usually runs 1/8" less toe than ap1

Ummm... I thought the AP2 came with 0 deg. camber in the front, leading to understeer. The AP1 uses -.5 deg. while the UK spec calls for -1.0.

Nope, I just checked the service manual. The only place where there is a split listing for 2000-2003 and 2004-2005 is rear toe. Of course, what a car "comes with" is not always the same as what it's "supposed to have".

If this is how you continue to treat strangers in your 5 yrs and 350 days as a forum contributorI suggest you reconsider being part of a public group environment. Now would you care to share the alignment specs that you are running and where it is on an AP1 or AP2?

If you drive aggressively enough on public roads (even if they are really fun canyon roads) to induce understeer/oversteer then you are driving like a jackass. Take it to the track!
