Default ap2 rears x4

ok i know some of you are running this set up im looking to buy another set to do this but had some questions first

clearance running 255's up front? im running on yellows with ground controlls so i can ajust hight as needed but is being lowered just a little bit going to rub? or would i be better to run 245 front and 255 rear?

i have a cnc mill so the center bore is no big deal i was thinking about doing all 4 and runing a spacer in the rear with a hubcentric ring is anyone else running that setup and if so what size spacer are you running?

thanks for any help and let me know if there is anything else i need to know about this set up.

I am running that exact set up with hubcentric spacers in the rear and hankook 255's all around. I have lowered it just under an inch with konis and no rubbing but I think this also depends on your front bar stiffness, camber, and your spring rates (700lbs up front with a grendon bar for reference). I run more camber now but last season I ran around 1.9*. I did lose a driver's side clip but that was when I was on stock suspension if I am not mistaken.

As far as the spacer goes I had my friend, who is a machinist, make them up for me. I don't have the exact measurements of the rings as they are on the car but I found the notes we took when measuring the hub so that might be a start.

Front hub 2.7590 inches or 70.08 mm
.2364 hub to face
Rim depth half inch

Rear hub 2.522 inches or 64.07 mm

The only thing else I would say about the set up is that while it has worked and has been rather cheap (I got all four for $300) the rims are anything but light. Also if you are running STR, which I am assuming you are, a 9" rim is really going to be better in the long run.

Thanks for the info.

I have the gendron bar up front so that should help but with the yellows I have been told 500lbs spring is max on them? I'm mainly worried about driving it on the street. By no means is this a daily driver but I do drive it some maybe 3k a year. How is this set up on the street? If it's not that great I might just do 245 in the front its not like im going to compete nationally or anything

I have run this setup same as zeus2k, i must say it works really well, took four oem rears, put four hankook rs3's on. grabbed some large washers, large enough to encompass the whole contact patch of the oem wheel to hub surface, hole size to match studs. they were almost 1mm each, ran 3 per stud and bolted it up. no rubbing or problems, great on street, great on autox. worked for me but many will argue unsafe

I might be getting a set bored out professionally soon but for DD and possible rain event tires. I have two full sets of OEM AP2s awaiting. Couldn't pass up a $600 deal on a second set with tires that had 8/32nds tread left on them. Hopefully I can get a little cash from the OEM fronts if I follow through with this... . I wouldn't run 3mm spacers on the front for racing. The risk just isn't worth the savings.. .

I use 17x9s for AutoX though. Tire rack C3s are a STEAL, even at full price shipped ($159+?)!

Mine have been revalved to handle the higher spring rates. I haven't done the research on what they can handle off the shelf but that sounds about right. Are you running stock springs now?

With 700lbs front and 600lbs rear spring rates daily driving on the street it's not too bad at all. It's really only on horrid roads that I notice bumps but it's not harsh in my opinion (that's pretty subjective though).
