If you're comfortable w/HPDEs and are looking to move up a notch, the ARC Race school is a great way to do it. I went through the two day event last year and it was a very valuable experience. There are only a couple spots left. If you want a race license, this may be the least cumbersome and least expensive way to do it.
When completed, you'll be a lot more proficient at driving offline, passing in corners, planning and executing passes (including during rolling starts) and will have a better understanding of all the logistics of racing.
