Default Arm restraints with factory seatbelt setup

How can I get something like this to work? or are they meant for harnesses? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BOB-50522-1-4/

They are normally looped into your seat harness buckle. I had to wear a pair as a passenger in a Spec Miata because there was no passenger side window net.

The only suggestion I have is a couple of small carabiners looped around your lap belt, but that's probably not safe.

Before 'how?' what's the 'why?'. They really wouldn't work absent a 5 pt harness...

I can't think of any organization that would let you run with stock seat belts but require arm restraints. They're normally only required when running a caged race car where you could get your arms crushed in a rollover (caged convertible or no window net).

I'm running with PCA, MetroNY region. They state that I am allowed to run top-down (should I decide to) if I get arm restraints. I don't think top-down is the way to go just because of the way aero is affected, but I thought it would be nice to run a session with top-down to get better GoPro footage

I simply have no idea how the arm restraints work, and if the pre-req is that it needs to be used with aftermarket harnesses. I think you guys have given me a better picture.

That's pretty weird that a PCA NY HPDE requires arm restraints to run top down. Even NASA time trials allows top down and no restraints.

You put the arm restraints on your arm just above your elbow. You thread the lap belt connector through the other end of the straps and adjust them so your arms can move enough to drive the car but not long enough for your arms to flail out the window or above the roll bar/cage. The cool guys leave them on as they walk around the paddock
