Auto trailers
Mod- if this doesnt belong here then remove it.
I figure it is kinda related to auto racing discussion due to the fact that some may tow their s2k to racing events.
I have very little knowledge about the trailers and I was hoping you guys can help me out.
I was looking at all aluminum open car trailer.
This open aluminum trailer is a 15' long deck space, and is 74 inches wide in between fenders. Both fender are completely removable. 4 Recessed d-rings, Fully Adjustable Ramps, Extruded aluminum full floor. This trailer is equipped with grade A safety chains, 6ply radials, 7000lb running gear - Rubber Torsion Axles w/ Easy Lube Hubs, and lightweight.
weight is 1100lbs.
I was quoted $4600.00
Is this too much? or is it about fair.
It seems little high.
I posted this before and wasnt big success. I hope maybe it can be answer here.
Anyone with knowledge about trailers, I would greatly appreciate it if you give me some thoughts on this.
thanks

I assune that this is the price for a NEW aluminum open car hauler. And if it is New, I don't think this price is too far out of line. Even though you could probably find a steel open car hauler for about 1/2 the cost......the steel one would probably weight twice as much as the 1100 lb aluminum one.
I recenty bought an enclosed 20 foot V-nose car trailer. There is a link below talking about tie down options for my trailer, and on the last page I posted a few pictures that I shot last week when it arrived my dealer. Knowing what the cost was for my 20 foot enclosed trailer, $4,600 does not look out of line.
If you want to shop around some, recently I ran across the Motherload of links for Race Trailers. This provides the links for most all of the manufacturers of Race Trailers and Race Trailer gear.

And last, you may get more people with Aluminum trailers to see your question, if you make a post over on the SCCA Forums pages. They have a area of discussion about towing and trailers.

Hope this is some help.

thank you for your the inputs.
So, because of the material...price is bit higher. I have been shopping around on the net when i can and i have seen many trailers that are around 2k new (steel).
I am now thinking about getting enclosed trailer and the price i saw was around 4900 and above.

if your gona get an enclosed trailer, get new... youll get your money back when you sell it. That price sounds right for the alluminum one, but the weight seems a little high, I thought they were more like 7-800lbs, and steel trailers were like 2000 lbs.

$3200 custom made - you can get them shipped for $1200
Mine weighs 1000lbs.
Make sure you get torsion axles and a 2 5/8 ball.
