Default Auto X kart

So I did my first auto x event ever and took first place kart and won FTD. What I'm getting at is I see a lot of people spending so much money on their daily driver trying to make them faster and trying to win the FTD. I only spent 2400 on my kart and if parts break they are very inexpensive as compared to a street car and my daily driver won't be down for some time. What I'm getting at and what I'm asking why don't more people purchase karts for racing?

Don't get me wrong I truly enjoy driving my S but I guess the risk of something going wrong with my daily is too much of a risk for me. And you can do suspension adjustments to a kart too lol

Karts are cool but...need storage space for them, need a way to transport them to the track, low competition, etc.

Suspension adjustment on a kart...isn't exactly suspension adjustment...more like chassis adjustment

Store it in a parking space, transport it with a trailer and ya i guess it is chassis adjustment over suspension. I guess low competition it really depends on where you are

Professional Kart racing is huge in warmer areas of the country. A lot of professional drivers come from kart racing from what I heard since you can start at a very young age. I see events at English town and NJMP for karting quite often.

It's why I went middle ground and went with a locost - I get the more affordable/lightweight aspects of a cart with the added benefit that I can also run it on the big track.

I know a lot of autox venues (our local one included) don't have enough setback area to run karts.

I wish circle track or dirt track racing was more popular in this part of the country for the same reason - great parts supply, very low running costs for w2w and good grid sizes.

Ya I love doing those endurance races. They have one out here in NC called rush hour and those heavy sodi karts are fun. I wish they would let me run my own kart there
