Default Autocross Sway-Bar

I Auto-X my 01 with factory wheels in the stock class. I recently purchased some R-Compound 225/50 R16 for the front and 245/45 R16 for the rear. I have read most of the info I can find and belive that I should purchase a heavier front bar. I race on concrete only. Any recommendations or opinions welcome.

Comptech adjustable or Gendron solid. More detailed information can be found using the search function on the lower right of the page.

Comptech is best IMO because it uses the stock endlinks. That's good becasue all aftermarket endlinks will rattle in time. I hate rattles.

That's it.

Anyone really worried about the usefulness of their bar wouldnt be using stock endlinks though, you cant adjust the preload out of the bar with the stockers. If you get teflon coated heim joints(i.e. the Auroras from McMaster-Carr) it shouldnt be an issue. I had them for years on my previous car with no issues.

Also, alot of the rattling comes from the heim joint having a larger hole than the control arm, so the resultant bolt that is used is a bit small for the rod end, which can be remedied by fabbing a spacer to make the bolt fit better.

I've had my Gendron bar for 16k miles. I only hear a slight rattle at very low speed driving across the lawn to my shop. On the road it is as quiet as stock.

If you're worried about the endlinks rattling, be aware that the with the Comptech the bar itself can clunk due to the gap between the adjustment bolt and the adjustment holes.

Drew, the stock bar has no preload when used with stock endlinks. The Comptech has an identical shape. Adjustable endlinks are not needed to prevent preload.

I have the 2nd gen Saner bar. End links rattle, squeaks some, but seems to work fairly well. Fits fine with stock shocks and Koni sports need to have the brake hose bracket bent out of the way. I have been running on RA1's with the bar on softest setting. Middle setting get some understeer.
Not too bad for the money and had no issues dealing with them as I have seen reported by others.

If you search under "Saner bar" or for the user Gloffer - you will see some mods that have been done to the Saner to make it much more friendly. Basically, you get the bar ends machined thinner so you can use McMaster-Carr endlinks. I've done that about a year ago, and had no rattles, thumps, clunks, etc since.
