Default AutoX bible

With all the information on the board, there really doesn't seem to be much on How-to for autoX.

I hope this thread grows as some of the more experienced members add their "Pearls of wisdom."

Even simple stuff will be useful. Afterall, this thread is intended for newbies (like me), but requires the participation of experience.

Sidewall tire indictors: Shows degree of adequate inflation. wear should extend to the indictors. past = too little tire pressure, risk of tire coming off rim. not to = too much pressure, may be sacrificing grip

Tip= use white shoe polish to mark sidewall tread limits for quick and easy check. (also for when indicators have worn off)

understeer/push

Rarely an issue with the s2000, sometimes can occur by turning in too quickly and too hard. Initiate your turn more gradually

Somewhere I've got a link to an on-line autocross book. I can't seem to find it right now but if I don't I'm sure somebody else knows where to find it.

I've always been there for novice S drivers in my region (LA area SCCA events). You should find someone similar in your region who can help you at a practice event, driver school, off-line discussion, or even at a regular event.

We have a couple of s2000 gurus around here (iispms and CG, for instance). I was hoping this thread would become a localized source of info for people new to AutoX. although I completely agree that experienced onsight guidance far outweighs any text.
