AutoX Brake Setup
I know there are plenty of brake pad advice posts, and rotors, etc., but I was wondering if it would be worth it to increase to say a 6 pot caliper setup, or if the pads/rotor upgrades were more than sufficient?
I have read/researched pads and rotors, and I liked the Cobalt GT's as street/track pad compound. I have seen the Wilwood 6 pot, and the Tar-ox 6 pot brake kit systems. I was wondering if there were any advatages in initial bite, braking cold, less fade, if the 6 pots could be utilized at the auto-x (if anyone has used them, they could reflect on their experiences) or not... please help and give me feedback, thanks,

First problem is that it bumps you out of stock. Not sure if that would put you in Street Prepared or SM2. 2nd problem is that there's no problem with the stock brakes. Different pads will change feel, bite, etc. but all will lock up the brakes with the stock mechanicals, meaning you'd be spending a lot of money on no help.
Take that money and aatend one or more autocross driver's schools. The Evolution schools are a standard recommendation.

For autoX all you need are the OEM brakes. You don't even need to change pads or fluids. I had 10 FTD, 2 2nds and 2 4th places last season with completely stock brakes (flushed the fluid a few times). You have any problem repeatedly locking up your tires at autoX speed (<60 mph)?
Thanks guys.
Jguerdat, the Evo school, where could I find that at? I had planned on going to skip barber, bondurant, or a couple others.
Tube Driver, I don't lock up, but I was just seeing if there was a big difference, because I want to brake as late as possible, and my brakes feel like they fade a little bit. Maybe just brake earlier?
Pedal faster, I really liked your autox set up page, that is very good information, and I have been referring to that a lot lately.
Thanks again guys.

If you're getting fade, just go for more aggressive pads. No need for the added weight of a big brake kit.
stock calipers and rotors are very heavy
