Beginner and safety questions
I just hate my Kirkey, side supports get in the way for my elbows, have to drive with elbows up like on motocross bike
. And it is to big and does not hold me tight.
I bought car with seat in it but just got Corbeau to replace it. For my other car I bought Recaro Hans. I am tall but skinny enough to fit Recaro which is for no more than 34 waist.

Bring it along to sonoma in a few weeks.

In my opinion Kirkey is cheap seat that works good in cars like Lemons where different people drive it and you have to make sure they all fit. If you have to buy padding for it and bend it around to work for you it is not worth it, imo. Covers for them are not cheap either. At that point you may as well look for nicer seat.
I would never put one in my personal car that only I drive. No need to compromise in your own car. Not all seats are equal, you want them to fit you right, tall enough for your body, belt holes in right places to your shoulders...etc.
Bottom line is don't buy it before testing it and making sure you will like it and it fits you. Last time I was at Sonoma I went inside the store they have there and set in few different seats. Than I went back to my Lemon car and hated its Kirkey even more

This is the Kirkey I have. See those ears in elbows area.
Maybe different style Kirkey would have not been problem but this one I hate.

This is the one we have in the lemons car you drove.

I think the rib supports are nice since it allows the elimination of the shoulder wings and we could lay the seat back more and get taller drivers under the main hoop.
I like the removable covers. When we tow in the rain we just take the cover off.
The cheap, uncovered seats are terrible.
