Best dual-purpose pads
OK, not to open a can of worms...but I'm not a huge fan of the pedal feel of the stock front pad on the track. I've driven Pagid Blues and Porterfield R4S on other cars, but I want something that gives that kind of initial bite, without fade 20 minutes into the run. Has anyone tried either the newer pagid sports or Ferodo 2000-2500?
I have tried the hawk hps and the horrific axis metalmaster and don't want anything along those lines. I also don't need a cold race pad or noise maker for the street...
Thanks!

I used Ferodo DS2500 last year, fantastic dual purpose pad if your running street tires, the best I've tried. They require a bit of heat to start working and biting hard, therefore they feel a bit shitty on the street. Good life, kind on rotors, and no more dust/noise than hawk street pads. I would run them again for sure, but this year I'll be switching to rcomps and doubt their ability to handle the increased demand of those tires over street tires.

Try the new Unicorn brand Perfect Pads. Or else just swap pads for track days like everybody else.
Seriously, the Pagid Blues were pretty close to streetable track pads, just drag the brakes a bit at -10. But I would scare bicyclists out of the way.
I'm not lazy, I just want something that lets me do a high speed run predictably, without resetting my brain each time, and fooling with pad/disk resurface with pad transfer.
I've steered away from sbc because the pad reformulations happen so frequently that I can't keep track (...cobalt anyone?), not a bad thing, just me.

Carbotech XP8's. I had some noise until I tracked them once, then they quieted down. A fair amount of dust, but it cleans off easily enough. I ran them on the street for about 2500 miles, didn't have any real issues. They performed great at the track. I got the equivalent of ~6 track days out of them. No regrets, I'll probably use them again this year.

Oh yeah, I tried Hawk HPS's at Mont Tremblant, and they were the worst pads I've ever run at the track save for some AutoZone specials I was forced to use once. Totally unusable at the track. On a scale from 1-10, if Carbotech XP10's are 10, and stock are 7, I'd rate the Hawk HPS a 2.
Great, I wondered about the Carbos, but have never tried them. Light application sets up a resonance, so just jamb them on. Well I'll spec and see how that works out. If I don't like them, I'll resell since the factory pads can reswap in.
Thanks guys.
