Default Best supercharger setup for the track.

Looking to make ~350 whp and survive a 20min session with no hassles. Thinking HKS would be close to the hp and reliable, although it seems there have been some issues with the blower flying apart.

So what should I be looking at? I am not opposed to snagging a used Comptech or Vortech if that is a better route.

Over the course of two years (2002-2003) I put 3 to 5 track days a month on my CT kit (then, Comptech). That kit saw a total of 67,000 miles. I now have an SOS kit and prefer its design and construction to the CT kit.

Lol, yeah the thought of a GT350 continues to cross my mind. That said I have just to much time and effort into my S2k and can afford to wad it up.

maybe it should. I just threw out the HKS as a new consideration, the CT and Vortech would obviously be used. I do read about cooling issues with the Kraftworks more often, but maybe it is because more guys track that kit than the other.

I'm not a supercharger expert, but I would guess sustainable track performance has more to do with your radiator, intercooler and oil cooler than with the blower setup. Curious what others have to say, though. One day when I'm not poor I'd love to supercharge the S as I just can't think of another attainable car I'd rather track.

It seems the KW setup has issues with twisting/movement and may need additional support. The HKS could have issues with destroying blowers. Haven’t read much about the SOS.

I am with you though, after watching a few track vids of SC S2ks it seems awesome provided it isn’t a giant PITA

I've been supercharged for 4+ years, and have been tracking it for the last 2+ years (10+ events a year). No issues at all, but I did address the cooling by getting an aftermarket radiator (KoyoRad) oil cooler (Mishimoto) and venting the hood with louvers. Your best bet for a reliable and painless supercharger will be Science of Speed or Comptech. I am running the Science of Speed Novi 1200 @ 11psi and putting down 404rwhp.
