Default A bit of advice needed on class/overall setup

It has been some time since I have autox/been on a track. I use to have a SM civic that I would also used for HPDE events. I was a fun car, but between race tires and breaking crap it got old. I then moved to a 2006 S2k that I cared too much about to have REAL fun with and sadly sold it after doing 1 autox and a track day because I just wanted to keep it too perfect.

Fast forward to now, I just picked up my 2nd S2k, an AP1 with 130k on the clock that I feel like I can have tons of fun with. The motor best I can tell is rock solid and runs smoother and at least feels stronger than my 06 (who really knows it has been 4 years). I tested the compression and the #s were 235-240 across the board. The only wild card is the clutch which was replaced 100k ago to resolve the clutch buzz, it seems to hold fine, but the throw out bearing is noticeable.

The car came with Koni yellows, GC springs (I want to say 420F/380R), ES bushings, berk HFC, and K&N intake. I am picking up some Rpf1 17x8/17x9 +45 this weekend they have 225/245 stager, but I intend to try 255 in the rear at some point.

I love the sound and don't want to change a thing, in fact a exhaust is in the future. The next thing I will be doing is checking all the ball joints and other components (I get a click when stopping sometimes), then will be getting a proper alignment. My goals are to have just a fun car on the street that I can enjoy at the occasional autox or HPDE event.

With that I have the following questions:

1.) what class do my current mods put me into autox wise?

2.) any suggestions on ride height before I get it aligned? Currently I am at about .75" lower all around maintaining about .5" rake from back to front.

3.) what alignment specs do you recommend? I want to say I went with a UK or some variation of that on my old S2K. I don't mind something slightly aggressive if the cost of a bit of tire wear makes it worth the increased "fun" I can have with the car.

Any other advice is also appreciated.

Cool thanks! I really don't want to be competitive, just want to have a good time. I just didn't want to show up and not know what class

That's what everyone starts off saying....

But as you do it, it's more fun to do better... which then feeds itself and before you know it.....

Haha, I was a very competitive cyclist and kinda just "retired" from that, so all of my desire to work hard and devote every ounce of being towards a goal is long gone.

Hehe I'll second what Ckit says. The fire of competition always blazes in the heat of battle.

Avoid the RPF1s if you can. That offset will require fender work that pushes you out of STR. A 62-ish mm offset wheel will allow you to run 255s all around with only a minor fender roll. If budget is a concern (when isn't it?), the TR Motorsport C3 are really popular: http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand

Camber needs change with tire/surface. Dunlop Z2s like -2-ish camber. Hankook RS3s like more.

I'm not a huge fan of aftermarket exhausts. You can DIY one for a fraction of the price, but no street cred if you care about that.

These threads give you more info than you can digest in one sitting: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/904...cussion-links/

You can check my signature link as well. I just did all the STR mods minus the diff.

Captain, I don't think I will need to do any work, as long as I don't run a square setup, which I don't intend to do. There are guys running a 225/245 stagger and a 1" drop and have not done any work. Now granted they may not be autoxing which certainly could push clearance limits
