BITTERBAR READY TO "ROLL"

Everyone,

I have decided to start selling the "Bitterbar" as is; the harness problem has been solved with a much simpler solution that gives people the choice to attach harnesses or not. The stock seatbelts can stay in the car.

Basically we decided to manufacture a harness plate which mounts to the stock rollbar attachments on the frame assembly behind the seats and also to the rollbar (very secure mounting points). Four bolts will hold it on. Two vertically-threaded bosses (sp?) welded to the plate will have eyelets screwed in for the clip-on type harness mount. This solution is easy and will just involve buying the plate and four bolts, rather than additional welding to the bar. This plate can be easily removed (or just left in the car). I was very happy with this solution because of its simplicity, strength, and flexibility for drivers.

Please call if you have any questions (323-707-6267) or email at aaron@speedventures.net.

Mikey, Ray,

The "Bitterbar" does not require any cutting. All the stock pieces can be returned untouched. Also, I doubt that the behind the seat, in front of the roll-hoop type bar shown above is only two clicks forward, it's probably much more. Also I wonder how high it goes, it doesn't seem like it's as high as it could be.

Aaron,

Can you post pics of the bar and the harness plate once everything is done? Thanks!

Gil,

Yes I will. The bar is done. It will look just like mine, except we may move the diagonal bars such that they extend more rearward to allow the seat to get all the way back. The seat is now limited by a click or two as the top of the seat hits that diagonal. By having it extend from the same place, but go back towards the rear , we can free up another inch.

I'll be thrilled if this solution is viable for me. If this is something that is easily installed and removed, allows the seat to stay back almost to the very back, and will clear the "broomstick" test, then I'm a happy SOB.

Please post pics and details when available.

Vrm Vrm,

No, not too early: the cost is $575 for the bar, including mouting bolts and powder coated to any color you want. Doesn't include shipping and packaging costs or installation (obviously). I need an order of 10 to get this price.
