How are they stealing the HT's? I assume they're breaking into the car? If so, you'd probably have to go with some sort of "lock" bolt (ie wheel lock/seat lock style).

Yes they are breaking into the actual cars themselves and taking the hardtop. The ideal solution would be to use lock bolts but doing so would require us to fab a new batch just for this purpose, it's not clear that there is enough demand to fab a batch.

The goal I'm striving for is deterrance. The thief is expecting the top to be just snap, snap and done and he's gone. When you bolt in the front latches they are unexected and unprepared for it. It's no longer quite as simple for them anymore. By using something like a Torx bolt they may not have the proper tool to do the job with them. This means they either give up or come back later. However their chance of getting caught is higher. If they really want it they will get it no matter what you do. What I'm striving to do is make their job harder.

This sounds very appealing, I'd be interested in something like this as well.

Wow, you guys are all smoking from the same bong. First a guy just mentions carbon fibre and you jump all over him for being a rice boy. Then you say not to move to LA because bay area hardtops are getting stolen Yes they are in the same state but they aren't the same thing. They are 400 miles apart.

A HT bolt down kit is not an unreasonable thing. It's good for racers that require it and also serves the general population as a theft deterrent.

It helps if you read the posts before you reply to them...

I realize that this is an old thread, but i was wondering if anyone/company made brackets available for sale for this purpose. im tired of the rattle of the stock latches, and tired of messing with it. i would be happy to just purchase a bolt on kit ( i never remove the top) to erradicate the rattling/creaking issues.
