Default Bottomed out?

Here's a shot of me at a recent track day, coming around a 2nd gear corner:

Now, to me it looks like the outside suspension is completely bottomed out. So, if I were to hit a bump mid corner, the car would have difficulty coping. Is this not reason enough to go to a stiffer setup - to retain adequate compression in high load turns?

Thoughts?

Looks pretty good and normal to me. I don't think that's anywhere near bottoming out. Come to think of it, I haven't heard of a stock suspension bottoming out, even without the rear swaybar. I don't think you will find corners with serious bumps in mid- to late-corner... cars would be constantly going off.

What he said, that is no where near bottoming out. Maybe if your inside front tire was off the ground that would happen

Heh, what's wrong with my steering grip? Just curious. I think it's the angle of the shot that is throwing you.

So I assume the tires tuck under the body on full compression?

Yup.

Your outside wheel well gap is right about the same as my car with it just sitting at rest.

Shouldn't your windows be down?

These are closer to bottoming:

Stock susp w/ Hoosiers:

JRZs w/ RA1s:

You would scrape the plastic piece (in front the wheel) before any bottoming.
