Default Brake cooling kits

I did a lot of reserach and it seems that no company sells a whole kit for cooling the brakes!!!

There are a lot on how to do it yourself but what if I wanted a kit that is ready to go?

Any ideas?

thanks

i suggest u show your workshop the designs on the website and ask them to custom fabricate one for you to ensure fitment is appropriate.

all the "kits" on this site have begun their life as custom jobs.

It'd probably be cheaper and more fuss free to do it like that.

Mine was done custom as well. I'll be embarking on a more comprehensive brake cooling idea as an extension of earlier designs to add longevity to pad, rotor and hub life so I will post pics up for sharing.

u are welcome to feed off the final product.

I will have some pics for you tonite or tomoro nite. But that will only be the initial setup. Will update next week when I have the full rotor+caliper cooling setup.

Just my anecdotal experience. I have gone through almost 40,000 miles on the stock discs with a total of >10 trackdays and 2 sets of pads. Rears look fine, front has some slight cracking due to track wear and tear.

Pads used were street cum light track duty pads Ferodo DS2500.

I cannot verify how much extra longevity I have given my hubs, disc and pads from the brakeducts but I can say for sure that I can do 10-12 straight hot laps at >1G braking with absolute confidence and no fade watsoever (using Motul RBF600). The brake pads started to have crumbly edges though

The savings are in the change of brake fluid after the track session (i can go 2 sessions before a bleed instead of 1 previously cos if you brake good and hard, u'll boil your fluid easily in 3-4 hot laps) and extra track time (I can stay out on the track for prolonged practice laps without fade but with the requisite water/oil cooling of course). Just to note, I am only using Federal 595SS so I am not subjecting my car to extreme braking G's, just street tyre normal G's but still the fluid fade comes after the 3-4 hot laps.

Custom brake ducts were done locally. Get your neighbourhood garage to do up one set to follow my design and u'll be alright if my experience is anything to go by. BAsed on my experience, i tend to believe that u need to tweak a duct for fitment here and there plus some slight damage might occur so paying a premium for a kit seems unnecessary.
