Default Brake lines 06+ vs 00-05

Hey guys,

I have 2 days at SMMR, 1 day at Buttonwillow and 1 day at laguna coming up. So I ordered, new pads, more fluid, and 2 sets of goodridge lines. 1 for my car and 1 for another local member. His car is an 06 and I have an 07.

When I ordered I was asked what year the cars were. My order came in and 1 set of lines says 06+ and one set of lines says 00+ and both have different part numbers.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this or knew if there was a difference in the 06+ lines. Both lines appear to be the same length but from what I can tell the connector on the 06+ has a little more of a bend on it.

I have sent a PM to the vendor asking if he knows anything also.

Thanks,
-Karim

Damnit ... I thought I found what I was looking for when I saw the title of thie thread ...

So what was the difference, and does it really matter? The '06+ brake lines are on national back order, but the '00-05' lines are NOT. My front left brake line started leaking a couple days ago, and I desparately need to replace it (it's my daily driver). Unfortunatley, all I can find on short notice is a used brake line from an '01. I can't tell any difference between them, but I don't want to totally disable my car by removing the somewhat useable line that's on the car now...

they are different, the internal flare cone thing is different.

you can thread a 00-05 brake line into a 06+ enough for it to hold pressure, however not enough for it to be safe for extended use.

What about buying some Stoptech or whatever stainless lines?

Thanks for the info. I found the difference in another thread after looking for a while. It really is irritating that Honda would make a change like that for no apparent reason.

I did order some aftermarket braided lines, but I'll have to wait for shipping. I'll be without a daily driver until they get here...

Hmm, have the aftermarket lines changed as well for those years?

And what's up with KrazyKarim trying to impersonate me with a much poorer version of my Avatar?

I think Stoptech has different part numbers for the 00-05 vs 06+ front lines.
