I few of the guys I know love the Porterfields but they squeek like crazy on the street. If you swap the back and forth You may like them.

My plan is to swap them.

I will drive to and from the track on them, but will swap the stock pads back on for the street.

Krazik - As you know, that's what I do too. However, be aware that a new set of Porterfields need to be "bedded in" for them to acheive their best performance. cdelena described this procedure pretty well in another thread. Also, since the rotor is slightly changed by whatever pad is installed, when you swap back and forth, you have to do a "mini-bed-in" for the pads to conform to the disk surface. It ususally takes about a day of driving around for the brakes to feel correct. HTH

My Porterfield R4-S pads don't squeak or squeal much at all; only slightly noisier than stock. They do produce much more dust; my wheels always look grungy .

I've gotten addicted to the improved braking, so I'm leaving them on for the street.

We have Hawk blue on the four corners of the race car. I haven't taken the car to the track yet but should be comparable to Porterfields R4. They also eat you rotors.
The good thing is that Hawk is cheaper than the R4.
