Default Brake Test

Granted, it's not an endurance test but wow...we all knew the stock brakes were good but here's something more than just hearsay.

Cheers,

Jorge

Saw that a little while ago. The S2000 has a pretty good ABS system, but that test means nothing except for a panic stop on the street. Let's see them run that test a couple dozen times over 30 minutes, then you'll start seeing what the brakes are made of

Every work I read about guys looking for brake upgrades, etc...thought this might help inspire some confidence in the factory hardware.

GinoGT's point is that the measure of a braking system isn't a single stop, but dozens of consecutive stops over the course of a track session. The S2000's brakes have been proven time and time again to be insufficient for track use by any moderately experienced driver. Luckily, stock motored cars can get by just fine with just a brake pad change.

Ryan (Krazik) and a host of other guys racing FI S2000's would disagree. XP10/XP8 pad combos with the factory calipers provide excellent braking performance under virtually any circumstances.

Ok. So this was a stupid thread to put here because it proves nothing. I'm an idiot. Mods, delete this thread if you wish. It's a waste of time. Sorry guys. I'll try not to clutter the forums.

We're agreeing, so I don't know why you think we're not. Let me elaborate on my statement: the stock brakes are not trackworthy, but the problem can be corrected by upgrading to race pads and fluid. Is that the end of the world? No, but there are performance cars out there (Porsche comes to mind) that don't require even pad changes to be track ready.
