Don't write off aluminum hats. It reduces the heat transfer to the hub enough that increased bearing life can be noticed. (note, this experience is from other cars as the rules only allowed stock rotors for the S2000 racing that I've done)

However, I would say proper ducting would be a higher priority on my list than aluminum hats.

For the OP's benefit, any kit other than the WW 4pot requires add'l spacing in the form of either using wheel spacers(requiring longer bolts) or "more agressive" ofset wheels. In both cases, more $$$ needs to be shelled out.

Incorrect. The Spoons do not need spacers for most wheels either.

Do they fit under stock wheels? No.

Actually Spoon calipers do fit with standard fitment CE28Ns. I put my wheels on an 04 with spoon calipers without spacers and they worked just fine. You need spacers for the stock AP2 wheels but not the CE28N

You never mentioned "stock" wheels. And supposedly the Wilwood kit will need spacers to fit under the 04 wheels.

Do you have a problem?

I am just here having a simple discussion. You can leave if you do not like it.

I guess this wasn't as harsh as other statements I've seen from you. Sorry.

excuse generator: haven't slept for 3 days since my son was born.
