Default Broomstick test

I'm 6'2" and wondering if anyone else out there that's the same height or taller that can pass the broomstick test. Please provide your setup and how well it worked.

From the stock seat, I'm about an inch over the broomstick. With a helmet on, I'm assuming it would come out to a total of 4-5 inches. My plans are to run with the F1 Spec Type 5 seat with Buddy Club super low down rails. Do you think that will give me the 4-5 inch drop I need?

You will sit as low as possible with that setup, as you can put the bottom of the seat on the carpet and the seat padding is very thin. I'm not sure how much of a drop it is, but probably at least 3", plus it changes your posture to make you sit less upright, so there are some head-height advantages from that as well.

If it's not enough, you'll need a roll bar.

At 6 feet myself, I was never able to pass the test with either a Recaro SPG or Sparco Pro 2000 on taitec/buddy club rails.

if you have some tools you can buy steel stock from the store and make your own bracket that puts the seat on the floor

FYI -- if you can't pass the broomstick rule, you can't run harnesses at any Nat'l event.

I don't plan to run harnesses. Any one else has a setup that will pass and is over 6ft tall?

I honestly don't see how you will pass with the stock hoops. I am 6' with a long torso , and I BARELY clear with a custom roll bar that literally touches the hardtop, and a fixed bucket mounted to the floor with less than 1/2" between the fiberglass and the floorpan. Maybe its because I have the seat so far back with not a lot of tilt back?

Depends on the back angle. I am 6'0 with medium torso. With the stock seat and helmet I am above the stick. With the bys rails I can be at the stick, but if adjust the tilt I can be 1 inch lower. At 6.2 you will need the lowest setup possible.
