Right now I'm still looking to head up to buttonwillow and shoot for you guys tomorrow.

Sorry to keep asking, but, is there still interest?

I won't make the drive if no one wants images.

thanks

the sti driver passed a car (or the car let him pass), and got on 2 wheels, went sideways, flipped many times, continued to flip down over the hill. (i forgot what turn it was.. could've been easily magic mountain or before star mazda - weird thing was that it was before the turn, before the braking. maybe the guy will post on his nasioc forums).

the driver said "i stopped counting after 2 flips ...i'm just glad my friend is still alive"

event instructors immediately carried a mandatory drivers meeting to review what went on with the driver. the driver was there to talk about what happened. friend was fine (he had an ice pack for his neck), driver was fine. it was certain the full roll cage and harness saved them. passenger had 3 point harness as far as i can remember.

one of the issues was the cold weather. instructors and advance drivers pointed out how even race compounds won't reach their optimal temperatures. track temp was around 40F. The track wasnt even warmed up, it was barely into the event/run.

there was another guy that almost flew off magic mountain. it was a silver g37 i believe. he didn't even brake before the turn.. probably took a shit right over the hill.

people were really pushing their cars. flaggers did an excellent job. instructors did their very best to continue the event once the sti debris were cleared.
