C Street anyone?

Looks like the S2000 will be classed in C Street next year. How competitive will it be? Thoughts?

At Lincoln, the fastest C/Street, a Miata, would have been second in B/Street. The fastest S2000 finished 17th, just ahead of a Solstice and 2 positions away from a trophy. In C/Street he would have been 21st, 8 positions away from a trophy.

5 of the 10 cars at the bottom of B/Street where S2000s. In C/Street, they would have been in the exact same place.

S2000s where scattered throughout the field in STR. The fastest was 4th. There were 3 others in the top 10, in 8th, 9th, and 10th. All driving way better than I ever could. Forum member Mr. Sideways won STR in a Mazda.

Whether it is the top competitors moving on or to other cars, on the surface, it looks like the days of an S2000 being a dominant Street class autocrosser seem to be over.

The S2000's F-series engine is basically a K-series on steroids. Modified they are pretty much the same. Whether an F-series or K-series under the hood, the S2000 is the only RWD Honda, and the K-series...not including that weird K20C1 in the Civic Type R (Inside The Honda K20C1 (Type R) Cylinder Head With 4 Piston Racing) is one of the highest performing engines available (4 Piston Racing's 1,000hp-Plus Honda K Series Build, http://blog.wiseco.com/the-500-horsepower-naturally-aspirated-k24-engine-by-4piston.

Locally it should help. Nationally... with the Miata "ND2" coming and looking like CS will be it's likely home probably not so much.

This is just opening the door for the ND2 in C-Street. The ND2 is appealing and I kinda want one. But I'm starting to have a collection with no place to park cars. I need to sell some stuff.

I think this discussion has to be predicated on the ND2 falling into B Street. Personally, I think it will be an overdog in either B or C Street-- using DavidNJ's logic, the winning ND1 in C Street would have finished 2nd in B Street in 2017 at Lincoln. Add 25 hp and I would think it would crush either class.
