The debate is S1 or S2; I don't want to get the S1 and end up needing more camber, or get the S2 and end up with TOO much camber.

Get the S2. I can run up to -3.3 or so in the front with S2, but I back it down to about -3.15 so I can run a decent amount of caster (6.4 degrees). I don't think the S1 will do much, unless you plan to lower your car also.

You need at least -3.0 in the front and rear. More negative camber in the front works better.

If you're blazing fast like Nam, then yes S2 is necessary.

I'm kidding...before I adjusted my camber after the install, I was running -3.2 up front. I backed it down to -2.5 for now. I will bring it up to -2.8 for the next trackday. I'm maxed out in the rear at close to -2.8...so it's not too crazy.

Bringing this back - So has anyone gotten an idea of how low you can get your camber, either stock, with the S1 joint, or with the S2? I have this same question - S1 or S2. I have a non-CR 2006 and I'm guessing I'll want around 3 degrees of camber up front. But potentially I'd want to be able to go down to maybe 2 degrees of camber.

Can an S1 get up to maybe 3.5 degrees of camber in front?

I maxed at -1.8 in the front without the camber joint, so a S1 would max me at -3.8 and S2 would be -4.8.

I got the S2.

I doubt that it can at stock height. But seeing your interest in STR you'll probably be lowered, and it'll be close. My camber should be maxed in the front (-2 at stock height from my alignment last year). With the S1 and a 13" wheel center to fender height, I'm at about -3.3ish for camber.

Oops, forgot to mention ride height. Yeah I'm thinking 12.75"-13" wheel center to fender height.

Sounds like I should probably do the S2, especially if I want to play with caster at all. At the same time it sounds like the S1 wouldn't be the end of the world if I can't find an S2.

Thanks for the help guys.

Stock and S2 camber joint front camber curves -

Stock rear camber curve -

The dashed lines represent about where the stock ride height was. Seems the stock ride height varies a bit between cars...

Interesting curves, thanks! These were measured by moving the suspension through its arcs? What was the caster setting? I guess the stock adjusters weren't maxed out?

Also, it seems the S2 only added a bit over 2 degrees? Or were the adjusters changed to different settings?

Per Evasive, my car maxed out at -1.83 on each side, while retaining the stock caster. The CR does sit higher than a non-CR.

I haven't tried to see how high I can get now, but the S2 is published to increase camber by -3; the S1 increases camber by -2.
