Default Which car jack do you guys use ?!

I need to buy a new jack which is low enough to get under the race car.

I uesed to drive up on 1 inch wooden plates so I can fit a normal jack under the car but this is time consuming.

What do you think abou tthis one:

Which "low jack" do you guys use?!

Thanks,

Yves

I use one of those. Easy to get in and out of the car. Cheap enough so that if it fails, you just buy another.

I wouldn't use it in the garage, but it's a good track jack.

I actually have the bigger brother version of this now

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Disp...temnumber=40105

The clearance is 3 1/2 inches compared to 3" with the mini one. So far so good.

Only problem is the rubber pad gets completely deformed.

I had the mini one first but it failed on me within months. It takes a bit more strength to jack up and a couple more pumps. But it's small and perfect to bring to the track. Was thinking of getting another smaller one again.

Jack and Giff,

thanks for the info so far

@Giff
so you actually do not recommend buying the smaller one?!
What did actually fail?
Did you get it repaired under warranty ?!

it was leaking oil after the first months and started sinking. returned it and got bigger version instead...

i think i just bought a faulty one. i don't think there should be a problem though. but you live in europe so returning might be a hassle for you. there's nothing local in europe that's cheap and has a warranty?

edit: nah, i think you can go for the small one... i said i'm gonna get one too again... good for track use... nice and small compare to the big one

We have good jacks for track use like these:

http://www.rodcraft.com/de/news_1.html

or these:

but they are the triple in price and thats just the low end.
