Default In-car video at Thunderhill

If non-S2000 content is taboo here, feel free to move this where it's more appropriate. I though those who frequent the Racing forum here would appreciate this most.

These are some videos from my most recent track outing at Thunderhill with a Miata club. Good friendly bunch of track nuts.

The vehicle is an '87 MR2 with an '88 Supercharged 140hp engine swapped in and some mild suspension work. 195mm full tread Toyo T1-S really hurt cornering speeds - but amazingly I was as fast around turn 1 this time as I was last time when I had stock suspension and 205mm Victoracers. The new suspension works.

All the video clips are here [lousy Yahoo... I will get some real web space soon, I promise].

thill_hunting - Short clip, got cut off even shorter for some reason. Chasing a Miata for about half a lap.

thill_lap_a - [ 2:23.7 ] Good lap until I had to slow and go off the line for a spun car at turn 14.

thill_lap_b - [ 2:24.1 ] A smidge too much skidding in a couple places. Heavier passenger.

thill_lap_c - [ 2:23.7 ] Two big mistakes: A sloppy slide and backing off at the end (last lap of the session). Should have been at least a half second faster without those. Hmph.

thill_oct03_spin - Embarassing first-session 180. In my defense I was running a completely new and untested suspension setup with a big rear sway bar (never had any rear sway bar before) on full stiff. I backed off the rear bar a smidge after this. My fault though. I went into the corner a bit too hot, though I had it, then hit a bump on the outside of the turn I didn't know was there. The car went around on me before I knew what had happened. You can see how fast I countersteer once I realize the car is starting to lose it. Had no power down low in 4th gear to try to pull out of it. Am I good at excuses or what?

thill_slide - Small collection of countersteer moments. Most seen elsewhere in this video collection (but not all ). Decided to put them all together for kicks.

thunderexhaust4 - Front straightaway fly-bys. Created to show what my custom exhaust sounds like under load. Doing about 100mph at the s/f line, 105 before having to brake for 85mph turn one.

That's it. Enjoy! Oh, you'll need DIVX. www.divx.com .

I was just there downloading a bunch of videos. It prompted me to post my goods here. If you'd like to host some of them [I'm sure your server is faster than Yahoo's] feel free.

Bryan, I'll take you up on that offer and upload your vids to gofastvideo later this week. Seems the hard drive needs to go to the gym and expand

Nice. Next time I go I'll have to try your line through 6 and 9. I never did quite figure those two out last November.

My last and best session wasn't caught on video... my passenger decided to hit the record button thinking I'd forgotten to, so he turned it off.
