The BS order I think was Andy, Mitch, Ralph, Sean, and Cliff making the class-minimum 5 in a familiar-looking street-tired Boxster . Weather was perfect, surface was mega-grippy. A very fun course, for the second week in a row. to the course designer once again. There were dozens of exciting spins and wipe-outs after the finish, especially on the left side, that made it a great course for spectators.

Thomason won ASP and the Super Challenge, Hiroo Sumida won the Honda Street Challenge in his Impreza and also won STS (by 4 tenths over Nat'l Champ Kevin McKormick in his hybrid Civic, who was less than 4 tenths faster than yours truly in a 150lb. heaver Civic ), and Theresa Neidel (sp?) won the Ladies' Challenge in Derek Butts' DSP IS300. Besides BS, Andy also won the Super-8 to Castle Airport Challenge, easily piloting his F150 tow vehicle past the then-leading S2000, stymied at a traffic light...

Honda sponsors a piece of the competition rightly named the "Honda Street Challenge" - basically it awards the top-finishing entrant in the Super Challenge (where all the top finishers from each class go to compete against each other) that happens to be driving a car in one of the "Street" classes - STS, SM, or SM2. I believe there is extra $$ to be had if you win/place well in a Honda, but the Civics are out-classed in ProSolo by the Subaru, at least with Hiroo driving.

Subaru has a contingency program of its own, making the events quite lucrative for Hiroo. Of the 3 or 4 Pro Solos I've done, he's consistently walked away with ~$1000...

DFL for me! No "fancy" S2000 or advice from Andy that weekend. Although he did tell me something before my last 2 runs... And then I dropped 0.956!

I had one of the spins that people talked about... even people that didn't know me! I did one of those spin to J-Turn things.
