Default CF trunk and APR wing, help.

I just picked up a Siebon CF trunk from a local resident. My question and concern is, is there any worry about the trunk cracking or braking with an APR gt250 wing? This car is strictly for racing. The wing really did a number on my oem trunk and I dont want the CF trunk to brake and then let the wing go flying.

Also, I did hear about re-enforcing the trunk etc etc, but the screws that come out of the wing mounts are very shallow on this wing and have no idea how I can re-enforce the trunk at the mounting point.

Any tips or help is appreciated.

Get some aluminum braces from lowes or HD and longer bolts with large washers. Done

Something like this.

If you want even more reinforcement, you get get this, have it cut to length and drill your own holes

Oh, great idea! I was not aware the bolts could be removed from the wing mounts, I guess ill need to look closer.

The wing bent my trunk up, where the wing usually does damage to these trunk. This made the wing go in a positive angel and created drag and just dented the trunk when the mounts are. I had pictures, but my phone died and lost everything.

Also, are there any worries about the CF trunk cracking or breaking apart? I will reinforce it and get longer and bigger washers with a metal strip.

You should be able to remove the studs from the risers...just make sure you get the right pitch

This thread is the very reason I bought a spare trunk

Just dont overtorque the bolts onto the CF and I think you'll be okay as long as you reinforce.

I would be surprised if it didn't rip off.

But where would the weak point be? At wing mount point? I have seen lots of race cars with CF trunks with wings.

I do plan on reinforcing it.

One thing, has there been posts or reports of CF trunks failing with a wing on it? Im now a bit worried and surely do not want to have at $1k+ wing fly off and break.
