The only time I change race pads is when they're worn (I've grown lazy).
VR's are very rotor friendly hot or cold. Only thing is the dust but I'm sure you already know that.
You guys are so lazy!
What's this new generation coming to?
The pads and rotors probably wear prematurely too.

Yeah, we are "lazy", but re-configuring after and before every event is bull-shit! I want a shop monkey!
For two years I re-configured... now I"m so burned out from re-configuring that I am willing to deal with the consequenses.
In reality, we really should change out the pads for at least a couple of reasons....
One, for disk wear; and Two, for brake dust.
Change 'em for good practice, but if you are a lazy FVCK like me, you can roll on the brakes for a few days.
But remember this too... it is not only your roters that are experiencing greater wear during the street time but your expensive race pads!
Race pads wear out WAY faster than streets because of their higher friction coefficient and ablative properties.
The ablation is what we see as "dust" - which is made up primarily of brake pad material.
Sheet, the Hawks are over 200 bones for the fronts alone!
I'll be changing out my brakes this weekend!
Later beyatches,
CB

The new Cobalts should be out any time real soon. One of my driver buds received a new shipment for test and they looked beautiful!
I think they even worked great too!
So, the new compound is going to be out in a few days...

I'm not lazy. I just need crew, a trailer, a truck, an RV... no, bus... a shop. Yada. I'm not doing the at-track swap either. Too much a time crunch and rush.
Finally am swapping out the pads today. Pahrump was two weeks ago.

Let me add something to this. I had these on the rear of my car for about a month or so after Cobalt sent me the wrong rears. Don't make the mistake and use these in the wet unless you have wheels on your car you don't care about because they will absolutely ruin them. Not to mention you will have to clay bar the car to get the brake dust off afterwards and if you have a polished exhaust system you will spend some time re-polishing it also.

Trueness. The race pad brake dust is a bitch.
It is best to change out the pads ASAP for daily driving.
