Default Comfort on the track

After 3 x half an hour runs I was feeling my left knee sore from bracing against the door while tracking at Estoril. Is this a problem only for me, or do others feel the same? The reason why I think I only got sore on the left knee is that the Estoril track runs clockwise and my right side is already padded by foam under the leather wrapping the central transmission tunnel.

I know a proper racing bucket would fix the problem, but for those not willing to invest, these pads, proposed by Honda Access in Japan, could be the solution:

Now, these would not work for a RHD car. Any entrepreneurs (Rick, MUZ) willing to take on an additional project?

I brace myself by pressing on the dead pedal with my left foot. My left knee never touches the door. The only time my left foot moves is when I need to use the clutch. Keeping pressure on the dead pedal also give me a better feeling of what the car is doing.

I have the same problem Luis.

I'd like to see those pads available for LHD.

I feel your pain! I found that to minimize this discomfort, I had to make sure my left foot was braced on the dead pedal; I still brace my knee against the door but it doesn't require as much pressure. In fact, almost my entire lower leg from knee to foot is in contact with the door/footwell, so no part gets abused too much.

by the way, my foot was against the dead pedal all th etime (except for shifting of course) adn it still happened.

My contribute to bandwidth waste is - "ditto." As budgetary concerns allow, I will be putting in some sort of racing seat. In the meantime, I will continue to brace myself with my left knee.

LOL! I found this knee problem long ago at the track. Yup! Just go out and buy yourself a knee pad. It may not look cool but it's certainly effective.
