Default Comptech Closing!

Comptech is closing the doors on it's parts business. All the dealers got the call to see what remaining stock they wanted to buy up.

Sad day.

They owe use money and are not returning our calls. Add that to the fact the we normally have a number of core outstanding and you can see where this is going to hurt.

Could you clarify -- *all* of Comptech going out of business (e.g. Chapter 11)? Or "just" the parts side? (What else is there?) Website's still up...

Comptech is closing. On Friday 2/23 they let most of the staff go. There is one sales guy and two guys left in the shop. The accountants are still there. They have not filed for chapter 11 (or 13), but they are selling everything to pay their creditors.

If you want to call them and buy something, as a retail customer, DON'T. There is one sales guy and he is working the vendors who will buy 1,000s worth of product. Retail customer will still be paying retail at this point, so there is not a fire sale.

After talking to CT today, I have ordered a few items that will clear our accounts with them.

If you have any other questions, I will try to address as best I can.

Don't look for that to happen. There may be a small discount as the part age for the retailer. CT is still selling retail to retail customers and they are buying. Remember CT was not know for having a ton of S2000 parts instock on any given day. So if you want something you may want to buy it when you see it.

Even our discount is not that much better. But I an tell you that I did buy the last one they had.

I said "parts" because I heard the engine side was still going to the mazda race engine program that they have for this season, past that... who knows.
