Default Cusco Roll Cage in 07

Hey, ive done some searching and couldnt find anything that was answering my question.

I Drive an 07 AP2 and i am needing to install a roll bar so that i can compete in some road course events this next season. Keeping a Full interior and not Royally messing up all the interior panels or removing them is a must, i understand that some small sections must be cut and removed. I really dont want to worry about what cage is better because it is stronger... i just need to keep the S2K usable as its DD role and pass Tech.

My Question is, what were the modifications necessary to make a Cusco or Safety 21 or other similar style roll bar fit in a 2006 and Up S2K? Pictures would be awesome, Thanks.

has the thought of actually rolling your car occured to you? It happens.

Get a harddog and trim your interior to fit.

To answer the OP's actual question:

The cusco/Safety 21 fits MY06+ models EXCEPT for the mounting plate on the passenger's side. Honda changed the passenger floor to accommodate the new seats. I've only seen a couple people actually get this to fit, and it involved cutting the lower portion of the cage leg and rewelding it in a position that is appropriate for mounting.

Unfortunately, I believe the same thing is true about the hard dog roll bar. While it's a safer alternative, as the previous posters are implying, you'll most likely have to modify it as well.

The only roll bar I've found taht will mount correctly to an 06+ is the Bitterman roll bar. But these are hard to find as only a few were produced and Aaron stopped production on these a while back.

I don't think Cusco bars are SCCA approved, no?

Regardless of hater bandwagons, I'm going to stick with an approved setup. You can pick up used interior trim off a part out for cheap if you're worried about cutting your trim. My shop did a great job, FWIW.

+1

If I was going to put in a roll bar I would get one that passes SCCA rules. That way you will not have to get another one if you ever want to do an SCCA event.

If you don't go with the harddog check the roll bar rules of the club or track you will be using it at before you buy one.

just because it isnt scca approved doesnt mean that its a bad bar. like ive said before.. in Japan they are approved for their equivalent.

same as FIA.. just because a seat isnt FIA certified, doesnt mean its a bad seat.. take the Bride zeta III L or S.. the normal zeta is FIA and made of the EXACT same materials. the only difference is the size. Bride just didnt spend the money to get the seat certified.
